Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the post of Junior Assistant
(Fire Services) NE‐04 in the pay scale of Rs. 12500‐28500 (IDA Pattern) at various airports
in Northern Region. Total number of posts likely to be filled and the eligibility criteria for the posts is as follows. Reservation as per Govt. Instructions. The number of posts may increase or decrease.

QUALIFICATION & AGE
Qualification i) 10th Pass + 3 years’ approved regular Diploma in
Mechanical/Automobile/Fire with minimum 50% marks (OR)
ii) 12th Pass (Regular study) with 50% marks.
Age Up to 30 years. (as on 15.10.2013)
Age Relaxation:
i) 5 years for SC/ST
ii) 3 years for OBC
iii) Length of service extended by 3 yrs for Ex‐Serviceman
Driving License a) Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (OR)
b) Valid Medium Vehicle License issued at least one year before as
on 15.10.2013. (OR)
c) Valid LMV License issued at least two years before as on
15.10.2013.
In case of (b) & (c) on qualifying the written test the candidate shall
be informed in writing to produce a valid Heavy Vehicle License at
the time of Driving Test. In case, the candidate fails to do so then he
shall not be allowed to take Driving Test and be straightway
disqualified for the further selection procedure.
Desirable Due weightage shall be given to a candidate possessing any one or
more (subject to maximum limit of the following)
a) Computer Science as subject at 12th class level;
b) NCC ‘B’ Certificate.
c) Relevant experience in an aviation/regular/industrial fire
service.
d) Basic Fire Fighting Training Course from AAI Fire Training
Establishment.
e) Sub Fire Officer Course from National Fire Service College,
Nagpur.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
Eye Sight Distance Vision – 6/6 at Both Eyes without Glasses.
Near Vision – N5 in Both Eyes without glasses.
Colour Vision – Should be Normal as determined by
Ischihara’s charts.
Height Not less than 167 cm.
Chest 81 Cm normal. Minimum expansion 5 Cms.
Weight Not less than 55 Kg.
Hearing Normal
Speech Normal
Must not have undergone major operation by virtue of which his physical fitness
to work in Fire Service has been impaired. Should be capable of undergoing
physical strain for prolonged periods.
Selection Process
The candidates will have to appear for written test, physical
measurement, driving test, endurance test, and interview.
The candidates will be allowed to appear in driving
test/physical endurance test subject to passing the written
test. Appointment to the post of Junior Assistant (FS) is
subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions and successful
passing of Basic Training Course for a period of four months.
During training, incumbent is entitled for stipend as per the
rules.
DISQUALIFICATION Physical deformity, chronic diseases, colour blindness, night
blindness, squint eye, flat foot, bow legs, knocking knee and
refractive error will be considered as disqualification.
OTHER CONDITIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1. Only those candidates who are fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be allowed to
appear in the written test
2. The eligibility with regards to age, qualification, etc. will be determined as on
15.10.2013.
3. The qualification must be obtained from Govt. recognized institutions / Universities.
4. Employees of Govt. / Public sector undertaking should forward their application
through proper channel. Advance copy will not be entertained.
5. Canvassing in any manner and bringing outside influence shall make the
candidature liable for rejection
6. The authority reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for
test / interview and change of exam centre on the basis of any other norms decided
by the authority at a later date.
7. The management reserves the right / has the discretion not to fill any vacancy and
to change the vacancy position depending upon the requirement.
8. Applications received after due date and incomplete applications shall be summarily
liable to be rejected. AAI will not be responsible for any postal delay.
9. Centre for Examination will be Delhi only.
10. SC/ST/OBC Certificates should be in the format prescribed by the Government of India. The OBC Certificate should invariably contain the ‘CREAMY / NONCREAMY
LAYER CLAUSE’ based on income for the current financial year.
11. Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will
not be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other
examination or selection.
12. Candidates selected are likely to be posted in any part of India.
13. The decision of the selection committee is not liable for challenge and same shall
stand final and binding of each candidate.
HOW TO APPLY:
1. Candidates fulfilling the above conditions may submit their application on plain
paper (along with attested copy of relevant certificates) in Hindi / English in the
enclosed format addressed to THE REGIONAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Airports
Authority of India, Northern Region, Operational Office, Rangpuri, Gurgaon Road,
New Delhi‐110037 {the envelope should be super‐scripted by ‘Application for the
post of Junior Assistant (Fire Service)} along with a Demand Draft for Rs.400/‐
(Rupees Four Hundred only) (Non‐refundable) drawn in favour of Airports
Authority of India, payable at Delhi so as to reach on or before 15.10.2013. Please
mention Name of the candidate on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.
SC/ST/Women candidates are exempted from payment of fees. The applications
may also be downloaded from AAI website www.airportsindia.org.in and
www.aai.aero.
2. The application should accompany the following documents:‐
i) Demand Draft for Rs.400/‐ (Non refundable) as explained above (other than
SC/ST/Women candidates).
ii) Two recent passport size photographs, one affixed on application and other
one stapled and mention Name of the Candidate on the reverse side.
iii) Attested photocopies of Certificates regarding Educational Qualification, Date
of Birth (SSLC Certificate), Driving license {Full copy (validity of license
should be visible)}, Caste Certificate in prescribed format (wherever
applicable).
3. The application must be complete in all respects failing which it will be summarily
rejected and no communication shall be made in this regard.
