N O T I F I C A T I O N
Applications are invited from qualified candidates for appointment to the post of University Librarian (1 post ­  open category) in the scale of pay  of Rs 37400­67000/­ with Academic grade pay (AGP) of Rs.10,000/­.
Qualifications:
(i) Masters Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with
atleast 55 percent of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven
point scale and consistently good academic record.
(ii) At least 13 years experience as Deputy Librarian in a University Library or 18
years experience as College Librarian.
(iii)Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published works.
Desirable
M.Phil/Ph.D in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation/ Archives
and Manuscript Keeping.
Age
Not more than 50 years as on 01.01.2015
{Usual relaxation of upper age limit shall be allowed to the
SC/ST and OBC Communities}
The cost of application form is Rs.350/­
Registration fee is Rs.500/­  (Rs.125/­ for SC/ST).

The prescribed application form and other details can be downloaded from the
website of the University(www.keralauniversity.ac.in).such applications will
be   entertained only if the candidates have remitted the cost of application
along with the Registratiuon fee.
Mode of remittence

(a)Cost of application form and Registration fee can be remitted by DD
drawn on SBT/District Co­operative Bank, in favour of ”The Finance  Officer,
University of Kerala” payable at SBT Service Branch,Thiruvanathapuram and
State Co­operative bank, Head Office Branch, Thiruvananthapuram repectively.
For all the remittances made by DD an amount of Rs.10/­ should be remitted
in addition.
(b)Remittance towards the cost of application forms and Registration fee will also
be accepted in cash by Chalan at the Kerala University Cash Counter,University
Buildings and also at the Friends Counter(Jana Sevana Kendram) at Palayam.
(c)Candidates residing outside the state may however send Demand Drafts
drawn on State Bank of India in favour of “ The Finance Officer, University of
Kerala payable at State Bank of India, Main Branch, Thiruvananthapuram.
(d)Postal Orders, Money Orders, Cheques and Demand Drafts from other Banks
will not be accepted.

Completed application along with DD/Chalan for the prescribed cost of
application form and registration fee, one passport size photograph, attested
copies  of certificates, testimonials etc should reach the University Office on or
before 31.07.2015.
Candidates who are employed should forward their application through proper
channel.

Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Universities
outside Kerala should furnish their eligibility certificate obtained from
University of Kerala along with their application.
Candidates should appear for interview at Thiruvananthapuram at their
own expense.
NB: 1)Incomplete and defective applications will be summarily rejected. No
interim enquiries will be entertained.
2)Submission of application does not entitle the applicant any right to be
appointed or called for interview. The University reserves the right to
accept/ reject the applications or to renotify the posts without
assigning any reason.
