Punjab School Education Board conducts Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2015 to recruit eligible candidates for teaching positions in various category:
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The candidates having the following minimum educational qualification are eligible for Appearing in PSTET.
Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage):
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE
(Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Minimum Educational Qualification for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in
this regard.
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.
Note:
1. Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility to apply shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled
2. *Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education: For the purposes of this Notification, a diploma/degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be
considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED. (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
3. Training to be undergone: A person with D.Ed. (Special Education) or B.Ed. (Special Education) qualification shall undergo, after appointment an NCTE recognized 6-month Special Programme in Elementary
Education.
4. The minimum qualifications referred above apply to teachers of Languages, Social Studies/Social Science, Mathematics, Science etc. In respect of teachers for Physical Education, the minimum qualification norms
for Physical Education teachers referred to in NCTE Regulation, dated 3rd November, 2001 (as amended from time to time) shall be applicable. For teachers of Art Education, Craft Education, Home Science,
Work Education, etc. the existing eligibility norms prescribed by the State Governments and other school managements shall be applicable till such time the NCTE lays down the minimum qualifications in respect
of such teachers.
5. Candidates who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are provisionally admitted and their PSTET Certificate shall be valid only on passing the
aforesaid Examinations.
6. The candidate not having any of the above qualification shall not be eligible for appearing in Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test.

How to Apply Online Application
Log on to PSTET www.pstet.org.in
Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.
Read the instructions carefully before filling Online Application Form and click on the link “Proceed to Apply Online” at the end of page to apply online and follow Four Simple Steps.
Application Form—>Upload Images—>Fee Payment —>Print Confirmation Page
STEP 1:
I- Fill Registration Details and get One Time Password (OTP) via registered email-id or SMS.
II- Change Password (please do not share password with any one).
III- Fill in the Online application form Part-I and note down the registration number.
Edit/Modify button : Click on this button to edit or modify the information already filled in the application form.
Submission of Step 1 button: If the information filled is correct then proceed to submit the filled information by clicking on this button.
Go to application status page button. Click on this button to proceed for step II i.e. to upload Photograph and signature.
Note: If you need scribe kindly fill all below information in scriber’s form and submit the undertaking by the scribe to the centre superintendent on the day of examination:
Name of Scribe.
Date of Birth of Scribe.
The qualification of amanuensis should not be more than that of the candidates.
The scribe should not be running a coaching centre.
The scribe should not be a school teacher/Master/Lecturer and College Lecturer.
Amanuensis should not be a relative of the candidate.
Amanuensis should not have qualified PSTET.
Amanuensis shall be allowed only after verification of disability certificate.

STEP 2.
Upload Scanned Images of latest photograph and signature in the online application form Part-II.
Submit Photograph and Signature button: Click on this button to finally Submit photographs and signature. After this the page will be automatically redirected to the application Status Page to proceed for Step III i.e. Payment of Fee.
STEP 3.
Make payment of fee through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking or download e-challan for payment in the designated accounts of State Bank Of Patiala or HDFC Bank. Select the mode of payment and bank. Once payment is made, confirmation page can be downloaded after 24 Hours. No modification in the particulars filled in the application form after this step.
STEP 4.
Take print out of Confirmation page for completing Part-IV and keep it for future reference along with copy of e-challan, (if fee paid through e-challan). The candidates are advised NOT to send the hard copy of the application/confirmation page to PSEB.
After Final Submission, note down registration number and follow step 2 for uploading images of latest photograph and signature in JPG format only.
Note:
• The scanned image of latest photograph is required to upload to avoid the inconvenience at centre, as this photograph will be matched with the actual candidate appearing in the examination.
• The signature should be in jpg format.
• Size of the photo image must be greater than 4 Kb and less than 50 Kb.
• Size of the signature image must be greater than 1 Kb and less than 20 Kb.
• Image Dimension of photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height) only.
• After uploading latest photograph and signature the page will automatically shifted to next step i.e. Fee Payment. Pay examination Fee by e-challan or debit card / credit card / Net Banking.
• After successful submission of fee, follow step 4 and take print out of the Confirmation Page for record and future reference.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
No change will be accepted through offline mode i.e. through fax/application or by email etc. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Please note that no request for any change in particular will be accepted under any circumstances after the specified date for online correction is over.
The candidates may download Admit Card from PSTET website w.e.f. 06-12-2015 onwards and appear for the examination at the given Centre. For latest updates, please visit PSTET official website regularly.
